Overview
Rock Paper Scissors features an adaptive AI opponent that analyzes your recent move patterns and attempts to counter them, creating a more engaging and strategic challenge than a purely random opponent. A scoreboard tracks wins, losses, and draws across the session.
How to Use
Click Rock (��), Paper (��), or Scissors (✂️) to make your choice. The CPU thinks briefly before revealing its choice with an animation. The result banner shows the outcome and explains the winning rule. The scoreboard in the header tracks your cumulative record. A history row at the bottom shows the last 10 rounds as W/L/D dots. Click “Reset scores” to start fresh.
Background & Context
Rock Paper Scissors has ancient origins — similar hand games appear in Chinese history as early as the Han dynasty (206 BC–220 AD). The World Rock Paper Scissors Society held annual championship tournaments starting in 2002. Game theory classifies it as a zero-sum game with a Nash equilibrium of random (1/3, 1/3, 1/3) strategy — any deviation from random play can be exploited by an adaptive opponent.
